Overview

The 16W Solar Semi-Integrated Street Light (Model 1196) is a semi-integrated off-grid lighting solution designed for medium-width housing colony internal roads, housing society compound access streets, gated community internal access routes, rural panchayat main roads, medium-size parking areas, and farmhouse primary access tracks across India. Featuring 254 Pcs 5730 LED chips at a combined 180W output in cool white and a 3.2V 20Ah LiFePO4 battery providing 12 hours of illumination at installation heights of 4–5 metres on 60mm poles, the 16W model delivers 67% more battery capacity and a different LED chip type than the 12W variant, positioning it for wider road coverage at greater mounting heights. The 5730 SMD chip delivers higher individual lumen output per chip than the 2835 format used in the 12W model, making it appropriate for the increased mounting height of the 16W specification. IP65 weatherproofing, a 5V 26W monocrystalline panel, and wireless remote control with multiple timed modes complete the specification.

LED Performance & Light Output

The Semi-Integrated Street Light 1196 integrates 254 Pcs 5730 LED chips at a combined 180W output in cool white. The 5730 SMD chip is a higher-output chip format than the 2835 used in the 12W model, producing greater lumen output per chip — appropriate for the 4–5 metre installation height of the 16W variant where higher mounting requires greater luminous intensity to achieve equivalent ground-level illuminance compared to the 3-metre 12W installation. At 254 chips in the 5730 format, the 1196 produces a high-intensity, wide-angle cool white beam appropriate for medium-width colony main roads of 3–5 metres cross-section and housing society shared access streets where the narrower, lower-output beam of the 12W model would be insufficient at the required installation height. The 5730 chip’s higher individual output also provides the luminous flux needed to illuminate parking areas and larger colony open spaces at the 4–5 metre height range.

Battery – LiFePO4 20Ah Capacity & Backup

The 3.2V 20Ah LiFePO4 battery in the Semi-Integrated Street Light 1196 provides 67% more energy storage than the 12W model’s 12Ah unit, supporting the higher 180W LED draw across 12 hours of dusk-to-dawn operation. At 20Ah, the LiFePO4 battery provides a more meaningful buffer against partial-charging days during India’s monsoon season — a relevant consideration for 4–5 metre pole installations on colony roads where the semi-integrated panel’s adjustable orientation maximises daily harvest, but consecutive overcast days can still limit recharge. LiFePO4 at 20Ah delivers 2,000+ charge cycles compared to the 300–500 cycles of lead-acid alternatives at equivalent capacity — the primary total cost of ownership advantage for housing society management committees and gram panchayat bodies evaluating semi-integrated solar street lights on IndiaMart. The 20Ah capacity is also the most common battery size specified in IndiaMart buyer RFQs for semi-integrated solar street lights at the 15–20W wattage tier.

Body Build & Weatherproofing

The Semi-Integrated Street Light 1196 carries IP65 weatherproofing, confirming complete dust protection and water jet resistance across India’s full outdoor climate range. At 48 × 30 × 10 cm, the 16W unit is larger than the 12W model, reflecting the 254-chip 5730 LED array housed in the semi-integrated luminaire body. The 60mm pole compatibility is consistent across all three models in this semi-integrated series, enabling a single pole specification for 12W, 16W, and 24W deployments within the same housing society or colony project. The wall bracket is included as standard, providing an alternative installation method on masonry boundary walls, compound pillars, and exterior building surfaces at 4–5 metres height without requiring a dedicated pole. The semi-integrated housing separates the LED body and battery from the solar panel, reducing the heat transfer between panel and battery that can affect battery longevity in all-in-one integrated units in India’s high-ambient-temperature outdoor environments.

Smart Controls & Operating Modes

The 1196 features the same remote control system as the 12W model with identical operating modes: Auto (100% for 20 mins, then 70% for 4.5 hrs, then 30% for remaining), On/Off, Sensor 3H, 5H, 4+4H, 4+6H, Half light, and Full light. At 180W combined LED output, the Auto mode’s staged dimming is more critical to 12-hour battery performance than at 12W — without managed dimming, sustained 180W draw would deplete the 20Ah LiFePO4 battery in approximately 7 hours. Auto mode’s average consumption of approximately 60–80W across the overnight cycle enables the 20Ah battery to comfortably achieve 12 hours of operation. The 4+4H and 4+6H modes are the recommended configurations for colony main road lighting, where full 180W brightness is required during the 6–10 PM peak period and sensor or reduced-mode operation is appropriate through the rest of the night.

Solar Panel & Charging Efficiency

The 5V 26W monocrystalline solar panel in the Semi-Integrated Street Light 1196 is 86% higher in rated output than the 12W model’s 14W panel, providing the proportionally greater daily energy harvest required to replenish the 20Ah LiFePO4 battery within the 6–8 hour charging window. The semi-integrated design’s adjustable panel bracket enables the 26W panel to be oriented at the optimal south-facing tilt angle for the installation site’s latitude — a key performance advantage over all-in-one solar street lights where the panel is fixed to the LED housing and cannot be independently optimised. Monocrystalline efficiency of 19–22% at 26W provides reliable charging during the monsoon season and north Indian winters, and the monocrystalline specification is a confirmed premium differentiator over the polycrystalline panels used by most competing 16W semi-integrated solar street lights on IndiaMart at equivalent price points.

Installation & Mounting

The Semi-Integrated Street Light 1196 installs without grid wiring, underground cable, or grid connection. The LED luminaire and battery unit mount on a 60mm pole at 4–5 metres via the included bracket, with the 26W monocrystalline panel on a separately adjustable bracket arm oriented for optimal solar capture. The 4–5 metre height range positions the 1196 for medium-width colony road lighting and housing society shared access street applications where the 3-metre 12W installation would be insufficient for the required road width coverage. The included wall bracket enables direct mounting on masonry compound walls and boundary pillars at 4–5 metres height for housing society perimeter and compound gate applications. Installation does not require specialist solar skills — the bracket system is designed for assembly by general site contractors and housing society maintenance staff without specialist training. Supplied at 1 unit per carton.
