Overview
The Infrared Motion Sensor Surface (Model 1268) is a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor switch operating on 220-240V AC mains supply, designed for automatic energy-saving lighting control in housing society staircase and corridor lighting, housing colony common area and lift lobby lighting, office building corridor and room lighting, hotel guest room and corridor lighting, hospital ward and clinic corridor lighting, and any Indian indoor or outdoor wired AC lighting environment requiring automatic PIR motion-triggered switching. Featuring a 180° detection angle, Max 12M (<24°) detection distance, 10SEC to 7MIN (Adjustable) time delay, lux level of ≤ 10 to 2000 LUX Adjustable, IP44 rating, and a 1.8-2.5M installation height, the Model 1268 is the surface PIR switch in the LumenCity Energy Saving Sensor range. The PIR sensor detects the infrared radiation of the human body within the detection zone — when a person enters the zone, the sensor activates the connected lighting load and holds it on for the set time delay period before switching off automatically if no further motion is detected.
Detection – 180° Angle | Max 12M (<24°)
The Surface PIR sensor Model 1268 provides a 180° detection angle with a Max 12M (<24°) detection range — the confirmed specifications from the product image. The 180-degree detection angle provides forward-facing coverage appropriate for entrance gate walls, building entrance lobbies, and boundary wall positions where the approach direction is predictable. The detection range and angle specifications are measured under standard test conditions.
Time Delay & LUX Level – 10SEC to 7MIN (Adjustable) | ≤ 10 to 2000 LUX Adjustable
The time delay in the Model 1268 is set to 10SEC to 7MIN (Adjustable) — the confirmed delay specification. The time delay controls how long the connected LED load remains on after the last motion is detected within the detection zone. For housing society staircase and corridor lighting, a shorter time delay of 10-30 seconds provides the most energy-efficient operation — the light activates when a person enters the staircase and switches off shortly after they exit the detection zone. For office corridors and hotel guest rooms, a longer delay of 2-7 minutes provides a better occupancy experience. The lux level of ≤ 10 to 2000 LUX Adjustable controls the ambient light threshold at which the PIR sensor permits activation — preventing unnecessary daytime activation when daylight provides sufficient illumination.
IP44 Weatherproofing
IP44 weatherproofing is confirmed for the Model 1268. IP44 certifies protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashing from any direction — appropriate for outdoor gate wall mounting, covered entrance porch installation, and bathroom or wet area installation in Indian housing environments. The surface installation format mounts directly on the wall or ceiling surface using the product’s rear bracket.
Load Capacity – Max 300W (LED) / 1200W (Incandescent Lamp)
The connected load capacity of the Model 1268 is Max 300W (LED) / 1200W (Incandescent Lamp). The LED load capacity is the critical specification for modern LED lighting installations — as LED loads draw significantly less current than incandescent equivalents, the Max 300W (LED) LED capacity covers standard residential and commercial LED lighting circuits. The incandescent lamp capacity of 1200W (Incandescent Lamp) (where listed) provides backward compatibility with older installations. For housing society staircase circuits where 4-8 LED staircase lights at 7-10W each are controlled from a single sensor, the Model 1268 load capacity is sufficient for typical staircase circuit loads. Input voltage 220-240V AC is confirmed.
Installation Height & Mounting – 1.8-2.5M
The Surface PIR Motion Sensor Model 1268 installs on any wall or ceiling surface at 1.8-2.5M installation height using the rear bracket. Mains AC wiring from the circuit connects to the sensor’s input terminals, and the switched output connects to the LED load. The connected load capacity of Max 300W (LED) / 1200W (Incandescent Lamp) covers standard LED lighting circuits. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. For housing society staircase lighting where the sensor replaces an existing wall switch or corridor light switch, the Model 1268 installs in the existing switch position and wiring route.
