What is a Solar Flood Light?
A solar flood light is an outdoor lighting fixture that uses solar energy stored in a battery to produce a wide, powerful beam of light. Unlike street lights designed for road illumination, flood lights spread light over a broad area — ideal for security, landscape, and construction use. Lumencity flood lights range from compact 3W camping models to heavy-duty 30W boundary lights.
Choosing the Right Wattage
3–5W: Camping, travel, small balconies
5–10W: Home gate, garden, small compound
15–20W: Large garden, farmhouse, boundary wall
25–30W: Perimeter security, construction site, large commercial area
As a rule: the larger the area you want lit, the higher the wattage. For home security, 10–20W is usually sufficient.
IP Rating Guide
IP65: Protected against water jets — suitable for sheltered outdoor areas.
IP66: Protected against powerful water jets — ideal for exposed walls and boundaries.
IP67: Can withstand temporary immersion — best for monsoon-facing installations and construction sites.
All Lumencity flood lights are rated IP65 or above. For any outdoor Indian installation, IP66/IP67 is recommended.
LiFePO4 Battery
All Lumencity flood lights use LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries — the safest, longest-lasting lithium chemistry available. Benefits: 5–10 year lifespan, no thermal runaway risk, better performance in heat and cold. Avoid lights using lead-acid or standard lithium batteries, which degrade much faster.
Camp Line vs Home Guard vs Boundary
Camp Line (3–10W): Portable, lightweight, some models include USB charging. For camping, travel, temporary use.
Home Guard (5–20W): Permanent wall mount, remote control, higher backup. For gates, gardens, homes.
Boundary / Site Light (15–30W): Heavy-duty, IP67, brightest output. For perimeter security, farmhouses, construction.
