Solar street lights installed across India
Reviews are written around the installation photos and models shared for this page.

"Installed at a society internal road in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The 40W light gives clean coverage across the lane and the automatic dusk-to-dawn operation has been reliable."

"Used for a home driveway in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The adjustable panel helped us place the light exactly where we needed it without wiring."

"Installed on a farmhouse boundary near Nashik, Maharashtra. The motion sensor and long backup make the gate area feel much safer at night."

"Used for a large parking approach road in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The throw is strong and visibility is much better than the old wired lights."

Solar street light buyer's guide
Choose by pole height, road width, real wattage, battery chemistry and build quality.
All-in-one vs semi-integrated
All-in-one solar street lights combine the panel, battery, LED and sensor in one unit. They are best for homes, gates, boundary walls, society roads and most simple installations. Semi-integrated or split-panel lights keep the panel separate so it can face the sun even when the light head sits in shade, which suits village roads, campuses and government projects.
Wattage vs pole height
Choose by installation height and road width, not by the biggest wattage printed online. A light mounted higher spreads over a wider area but gives less intensity at ground level, so wattage, height and coverage must match.
| Actual W | Height | Best for | Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3W-6W | 8-10 ft | Home gates, boundary walls, narrow lanes | Gate area or 10-15 ft wall stretch |
| 8W-12W | 10-12 ft | House fronts, driveways, colony footpaths | Lane or driveway 10-15 ft wide |
| 15W-20W | 12-16 ft | Colony roads, society perimeters, parking | Road 15-20 ft wide |
| 22W-28W | 16-20 ft | Society roads, large parking, village streets | Road 20-25 ft wide |
| 30W-50W | 20-26 ft | Industrial premises and campus roads | Road 25-35 ft wide |
| 75W-80W | 26-30 ft | Highways, township roads, open compounds | Large roads and open areas |
Avoid inflated wattage claims
Marketplace claims like 300W or 500W usually describe the theoretical LED array, not actual operating power. Ask for the real operating wattage, solar panel wattage and battery watt-hours before comparing prices.
| Segment | Wattage | Fair price | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact home models | 3W-12W | ₹999-₹3,699 | Gates, walls, lanes |
| Colony & society models | 15W-28W | ₹4,999-₹9,499 | Roads, parking, perimeters |
| Heavy-duty wide-road models | 30W-50W | ₹7,899-₹16,999 | Campuses and industrial areas |
| Highway & project grade | 75W-80W | ₹17,999-₹18,999 | Highways and large projects |
| Semi-integrated split panel | 12W-75W | ₹4,499-₹17,999 | Shaded locations, villages, tenders |
Battery decides lifespan
LiFePO4 is the best chemistry for Indian heat and outdoor use. It handles high temperature better, gives 2,000+ cycles and keeps backup stable as it ages. Ordinary lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries fail faster.
IP rating, body and panel
IP65 is the outdoor minimum. IP66/IP67 is better for exposed highway and large project installations. Die-cast aluminium bodies handle heat and weather better than thin plastic, while monocrystalline panels charge faster in limited sunlight.
For societies and government buyers
For bulk and institutional purchases, insist on BIS-certified street lights, verified wattage, panel and battery specs, IP65 or better protection, LiFePO4 batteries and a written warranty of at least 2 years.
